VC 21460 (a, b) – Improper Turns Over Double Lines/Solid Lines Right Prohibited

VC 21460 (a) If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section.

(b) If double parallel solid white lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not cross any part of those double solid white lines, except as permitted in this section or Section 21655.8.

Turning over double lines for violating California Vehicle Code 21460 (a) VC are common tickets issued by local police and sheriffs and Highway Patrol.  These are good tickets to fight and our attorneys have many ways of beating these.

The fine amount for these tickets is $238.00

In California VC 21460 carries one DMV point which stays on your driving record for 3 years.  Each DMV point costs approximately $750 in increased insurance premiums over 3 years plus the cost of the fine amount.

The total cost if you just pay your ticket for VC 21460 could be $988 or more.

This is why you should NOT simply pay the fine for VC 21460 and plead guilty.
